This, then, is his—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—intercession for the final judgment among all created beings. It is a mighty station with which Allah honoured the Prophet ﷺ, the Praiseworthy Station about which the Almighty said: “And during a part of the night keep vigil with it as an extra act of devotion; perhaps your Lord will raise you to a Praiseworthy Station” (al-Isrāʾ 17:79). On that account the first and the last will praise him, and his excellence—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—will stand forth in that momentous scene.
The second intercession, also unique to the Prophet ﷺ, is his plea on behalf of the inhabitants of Paradise that they be admitted to it.¹ Muhammad ﷺ will be the first to seek that the gate of Paradise be opened, he will be the first to enter it,² and of all the nations, his community will be the very first to go in.
