their people as warners, saying, “O our people, we have heard a Book sent down after Moses, confirming what came before it; it guides to the truth and to a straight path. O our people, respond to the caller of Allah…” (al-Ahqaf 46:29-31)—that is, to Muhammad ﷺ.
Likewise, His words, “Say: It has been revealed to me that a band of the jinn listened and said, ‘We have indeed heard a wondrous Quran, which guides to right conduct, so we have believed in it’” (al-Jinn 72:1-2), prove that his mission also embraces the jinn. The Prophet ﷺ was therefore sent to every inhabitant of the earth, human and jinn alike: whoever believes in him will enter Paradise, and whoever disbelieves will enter the Fire—whether human or jinn.
As for the phrase “with light and radiance,” both words convey the same sense, and the Prophet ﷺ was sent with them both. Allah, exalted is He, says: “O Prophet! We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of glad tidings, a warner, a caller to Allah by His permission, and a luminous lamp” (al-Ahzab 33:45-46).
Once you affirm faith in Allah, majestic and exalted, and in His Messenger ﷺ, you must also believe that the Quran is the speech of Allah, for this is what the Messenger ﷺ brought and what Allah sent down to him. The Quran is not the speech of Muhammad ﷺ, nor of Gabriel; it is the very speech of Allah, glorified be He. Allah spoke it; Gabriel received it directly from Him; the Prophet ﷺ received it from Gabriel; and the ummah received it from the Prophet ﷺ.
It is, then, the speech of Allah, originating from Him—magnified be He. Gabriel did not take it from the Preserved Tablet, as the misguided allege, nor is it the speech of Gabriel or of Muhammad; it is the speech of the Lord of all worlds. As for Gabriel and Muhammad—peace be upon them
