Their coming into being has not increased Him in any way, nor added a single attribute that He lacked before they existed. Just as He has ever been eternal with His attributes, so will He remain vested with them for all eternity.
Consider the one described: if you say of a man, “So-and-so is hearing and seeing, learned, a jurist, a linguist, a grammarian,” does that make the man several distinct persons? Obviously not. Therefore, the plurality of attributes does not require a plurality of beings, contrary to what the people of deviation allege.
Allah’s attributes have no beginning, just as His essence has no beginning; He is and will always be called the Creator. His actions, however, are eternal in kind while each specific act is newly originated. Allah was “Speaker” before any speech issued from Him and “Creator” before any creature came forth. His speaking and creating are ever-renewed acts, and the same applies to all His deeds.
That is, He brought creation into existence. We do not say that He became a Creator only after He created; rather, He has been called Creator from pre-eternity, without beginning, while the act of creating itself is continually renewed.
Just as He has been characterized by His attributes from pre-eternity—meaning without beginning—so those attributes will ever accompany Him in the future. With His attributes He is everlasting, without end: anta al-Ākhir fa-lā baʿdaka shayʾ (You are the Last; there is nothing after You). One must never claim that His attributes will ever cease; they are inseparable from Him for all eternity, exalted is He.
