Thus, this is a rebuttal to that obstinate denier. Allah, exalted is He, says: “and he forgets his own creation” (Q 36:78). He forgets that, at the beginning, he was nothing and had no existence at all: “Has there not come upon man a span of time when he was a thing unmentioned?” (Q 76:1). He forgets that Allah brought him into being out of non-existence.
Allah will gather these scattered bones, the torn flesh, the dust that has disintegrated, even the dispersed strands of hair, and will restore them exactly as they were. “Among His signs is that the heavens and the earth stand firm by His command; then, when He calls you with a single call from the earth, you will instantly come forth” (Q 30:25). “The Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and on earth will swoon away—except whomever Allah wills; then it will be blown a second time, and behold, they will be standing, looking on” (Q 39:68); this second blast is the blast of resurrection.
The first blast causes shock and death; the second brings about resurrection. “And the Trumpet will be blown, whereupon, from their graves, they will rush forth to their Lord. They will say, ‘Woe to us! Who has raised us from our resting place?’ It will be said, ‘This is what the All-Merciful promised, and the messengers spoke the truth’” (Q 36:51-52).
Allah is capable of all things; this is a refutation of the disbelievers who deem it impossible for Allah to revive the dead and return them as they once were. Allah the Exalted says: “Does man think that We will never assemble his bones? Yes indeed—we are fully able…” (Q 75:3-4).
