Most High:
“The One who created you, then provided for you, then will cause you to die, then will give you life. Can any of your partners do any of these things? Glorified and exalted is He above what they associate with Him.”
Al-Rūm 40.
[Al-Shahrastānī’s words in Nihāyat al-Iqdām]
What we have explained—that individual beings which have come into existence, such as human beings, themselves entail the existence of the Maker and Creator, and that a person’s knowledge that he has been made entails knowledge of his Maker Himself, without requiring a universal proposition to be combined with it—is what many people mean in their statements. One example is al-Shahrastānī’s statement:
“As for denying that the world has an All-Knowing, All-Powerful, All-Wise Maker, I do not regard this as a doctrine, nor have I known anyone who upheld it, except for what has been reported of a small band of the Dahriyya, who said: ‘From eternity, the world consisted of scattered parts moving without a regular course. They collided by chance, and thus the world came into being in the form in which you see it.’”
