in a particular spatial location; rather, it may occupy this spatial location at one time and another spatial location at another time.
This point is completed by what was stated earlier: beginninglessness is not a determinate thing for which a particular spatial location must be sought; rather, it denotes the absence of a beginning.
[The Fourth Proof]
Al-Rāzī then presented the fourth and fifth proofs. Neither is relevant here.
The substance of the fourth is that:
“Everything other than the One is contingent in itself, and everything contingent in itself depends on a cause. A cause acts only upon what comes into being, not upon what continues to exist, whether it acts upon it at the time of its coming into being or at the time of its nonexistence, for acting upon what continues to exist would amount to bringing about what already exists.”
