Allah—your deeds—and by His Messenger and the believers.’” (al-Tawbah: 105)
And His saying, exalted is He:
“Then We made you successors in the land after them, to see how you would act.” (Yūnus: 14)
He has spoken of His hearing and seeing in many places, such as His words to Moses and Aaron:
“Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see.” (Tā Hā: 46)
And His saying:
“Who sees you when you stand, and your movements among those who prostrate.” (al-Shuʿarāʾ: 218–219)
And His saying:
“Allah has certainly heard the words of those who said, ‘Allah is poor, while we are rich.’” (Āl ʿImrān: 181)
“Allah has certainly heard the words of the woman who disputes with you concerning her husband and complains to Allah.” (al-Mujādilah: 1)
In the authentic hadith collection, it is related that ʿĀʾishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: “Glory be to Him whose hearing encompasses all voices! The woman who disputed was complaining to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in one part of the house, yet some of her words escaped my hearing. Then Allah Most High revealed:
‘Allah has certainly heard the words of the woman who disputes with you concerning her husband and complains to Allah.’”
There are many such examples.
These people may therefore be told: You acknowledge, as do all rational people, what is known through clear reason: that a nonexistent thing cannot be seen as existing before it exists. Once it exists, and He sees it as existing and hears its speech, has something come into existence that was not there before, or has nothing occurred?
