when He loves a servant, calls Gabriel: ‘I have come to love so-and-so, so love him.’ He said: Gabriel then loves him and calls out in heaven: ‘Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.’ The inhabitants of heaven then love him, and acceptance of him is established on earth.” He said the same concerning hatred.

In the two Sahīh collections, it is also narrated from him that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Allah Most High says: ‘I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me within himself, I remember him within Myself. If he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering better than theirs. If he draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by a cubit. If he draws near to Me by a cubit, I draw near to him by an armspan. If he comes to Me walking, I come to him at a run.’”

In Sahīh Muslim, it is narrated from Abū Hurayrah and Abū Sa'īd that they both testified that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“No people sit remembering Allah without being surrounded
