My servant into two halves. When the servant says, ‘All praise is for Allah, Lord of all worlds,’ Allah says, ‘My servant has praised Me.’ When he says, ‘The Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful,’ He says, ‘My servant has extolled Me.’ When he says, ‘Master of the Day of Judgment,’ He says, ‘My servant has glorified Me.’”

And his words, peace and blessings be upon him:

“Allah Most High says: ‘Whoever draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by a cubit; and whoever draws near to Me by a cubit, I draw near to him by an armspan.’”

And his words, peace and blessings be upon him:

“Allah Most High descends to the lowest heaven halfway through the night, or in its final third, and says: ‘Who calls upon Me, that I may answer him? Who asks of Me, that I may give him? Who seeks My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’”

And his words, peace and blessings be upon him, in the hadith concerning the man from among the Helpers who hosted a man and gave him preference over himself and his family. The next morning, the man went to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who said:

“Allah laughed last night, or marvelled at what you both did.”
