‘Allah is the one who speaks the Quran,’ and thus you have attributed it to Allah. This is the greatest injustice and the gravest falsehood: attributing the speech of a created being to the Creator. Even if it were not disbelief, it would undoubtedly be a lie. How much worse, then, when it is undoubtedly disbelief?
No created being who believes in Allah and the Last Day may claim lordship and call others to worship him, saying:
‘Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me.’
(Tā Hā: 14)
And:
‘Indeed, I am your Lord.’
(Tā Hā: 12)
‘And I have chosen you.’
(Tā Hā: 13)
‘And I have chosen you for Myself. * Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me.’
(Tā Hā: 41–42)
‘Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see.’
(Tā Hā: 46)
‘And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.’
(Al-Dhāriyāt: 56)
‘Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you should not worship Satan—indeed, he is a clear enemy to you—* and that you should worship Me? This is a straight path.’
(Yā Sīn: 60–61)
All created beings—except those whom Allah has led astray—know that no one other than the Creator may say such things or make such claims. Rather, whoever says them and calls others to worship anyone besides Allah is a disbeliever, like Pharaoh, who said:
‘I am your highest lord.’
(Al-Nāziʿāt: 24)
Whoever answers his call and believes his claim is guilty of still greater disbelief and falsehood.
And if you say, ‘A created being spoke it, and we attributed it to Allah because all created beings
