the King, I am the Judge. Where are the kings of the earth?” No one denies Allah’s speech except someone who wishes to nullify what Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has revealed. How could the One who taught His servants to speak and gave creation the power of speech be incapable of speaking? Allah Most High says in His Book:
“And Allah spoke to Moses directly.”
(Al-Nisā’: 164)
This admits of no interpretation other than speech itself. He said to Moses:
“I have chosen you over the people through My messages and My speaking to you.”
(Al-A‘rāf: 144)
Allah Most High also says:
“A group of them used to hear the words of Allah, then distort them after understanding them, knowingly.”
(Al-Baqarah: 75)
And He says:
“They wish to change the words of Allah.”
(Al-Fath: 15)
And He says:
“There is no changing the words of Allah.”
(Yūnus: 64)
And He says:
“The word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and justice. None can change His words.”
(Al-An‘ām: 115)
He mentioned other verses, until he said:
“Allah Most High said concerning the people of Moses when they took the calf for worship:
‘Did they not see that it could not answer them and had no power to harm or benefit them?’
(Tā Hā: 89)
And He says:
‘A calf—a body that lowed. Did they not see that it neither spoke to them nor guided them to any path? They took it for worship and were wrongdoers.’
(Al-A‘rāf: 148)
