All this, and other passages like it, bears witness to and provides evidence for the limit. Whoever does not acknowledge it has disbelieved in Allah’s revelation and denied His verses.
And the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“Allah is above His Throne, above His heavens.”
And he said to the black slave woman, “Where is Allah?”
She replied, “In heaven.”
He said, “Free her, for she is a believer.”
The Messenger of Allah’s statement, “She is a believer,” is evidence that, had she not believed that Allah is in heaven, as Allah and His Messenger have stated, she would not have been a believer. It also shows that only someone who affirms a limit for Allah—that He is in heaven—as Allah and His Messenger have stated, qualifies as a believing slave.
