As for his assertion that some verses indicate providential care but not origination, and other such claims, this is not the place to discuss them. Rather, everything that indicates providential care also indicates origination. Our purpose here, however, is simply to report what he said.
He said:
“It has thus become clear that the proofs for the existence of the Maker are confined to these two categories: the evidence of providential care and the evidence of origination.”
He said:
“It is evident that these very same two methods constitute both the way of the elite—by whom I mean the scholars—and the way of the general public. The difference between their respective kinds of knowledge is only one of degree. That is, the general public’s knowledge of providential care and origination is limited to what is apprehended through basic knowledge grounded in sense perception.
“Scholars, however, supplement what they perceive of these things through the senses with what they apprehend through demonstrative proof—I mean, concerning providential care and origination. Indeed, one scholar has said: ‘The beneficial functions of human and animal organs that scholars have come to understand number nearly ten thousand.’”
