And it is to this primordial disposition, ingrained in human nature, that Allah Most High points when He says:
“And when your Lord took from the children of Adam—from their loins—their descendants and made them testify”
up to His words:
“They said, ‘Yes, we bear witness.’”
[Al-A‘rāf: 172]
For this reason, everyone whose chief concern is to obey Allah Most High by believing in Him and complying with what His messengers have brought must follow this path, so that he may be among the scholars who bear witness to Allah’s lordship, alongside His testimony to Himself and the testimony of His angels.
As Allah Most High says:
“Allah bears witness—and so do the angels and those endowed with knowledge—that there is no deity but Him, the Upholder of justice. There is no deity but Him, the Almighty, the All-Wise.”
[Āl ‘Imrān: 18]
He said: The fact that existing things point to Him in these two ways is the glorification referred to in His words, Most High:
“There is nothing that does not glorify Him with praise, but you do not understand their glorification.”
[Al-Isrā’: 44]
I say: There is more to be said about this verse and the verse concerning the taking of the covenant, but this is not the place for it. The same applies to his claim that the path is confined to these two kinds of evidence.
