love is innate and natural, then its prerequisite—knowledge—is likewise innate and natural. The natural disposition must therefore contain love for the Creator together with acknowledgment of Him.
This is the foundation of the upright monotheistic faith upon which Allah created His creatures; it is the natural disposition that Allah has commanded people to follow.
Moreover, since love is innate and depends on awareness, awareness must also be innate. Love for Him is likewise innate, for otherwise the soul would be equally receptive to it and its opposite. This is impossible, as explained above.
If love for Him has greater weight within the natural disposition, it must be present within it. Otherwise, it could either arise or fail to arise, as is the case with Magianism and other forms of unbelief. The relationship between the upright monotheistic faith and Magianism would then be like that between Judaism and Magianism. This is false, as explained above.
Thus, it is established that the upright monotheistic faith necessarily arises from the natural disposition and is required by it. Love for Allah, submission to Him, and exclusive devotion to Him are the foundation of the practices of this faith. These necessarily entail acknowledgment and knowledge. Whatever necessarily follows from a necessary consequence is itself a necessary consequence; and whatever necessarily entails something also entails whatever that thing necessarily entails. It is therefore established that the natural disposition necessarily entails these states, and that these states are its necessary consequences. This is what was to be demonstrated.
