Darʾ Taʿâroud al-ʿAql wa-n-NaqlIbn Taimiya

This is the method followed by the early Muslim imams in coming to know the Maker and establishing that the world came into being. For once his prophethood is established through a miracle,

“it becomes obligatory to believe him concerning the unseen matters of which he has informed them, and concerning what he has called them to affirm regarding Allah Most High’s oneness, attributes, and speech.”

.....

“He has also directed them in His Book to use this as evidence of His lordship, saying:

‘And in your own selves—will you not then see?’

....”

He also says:

“Do they not look at the camels—how they were created; and at the sky—how it was raised; and at the mountains—how they were set firm; and at the earth—how it was spread out?”

And His words:

“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day are signs,”

“and similar passages that demonstrate the existence of the Maker”—and so on to the end of his statement.
