Allah Most High has also said:

“And thus We have revealed to you a spirit by Our command. You did not know what the Book was, nor what faith was, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, you guide to a straight path—the path of Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Surely, to Allah all matters return.”

The two Sahīhs report from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yamān that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“The trust descended into the depths of men’s hearts, and they learned from the Quran and learned from the Sunnah.”

Thus, he stated that faith was sent down into the hearts.

The following words of Allah Most High have already been cited:

“He sends down water from the sky, and valleys flow, each according to its capacity. The torrent carries swelling foam, and what they heat in the fire, seeking ornaments or utensils, produces similar foam. Thus Allah illustrates truth and falsehood. As for the foam, it is cast away, while what benefits people remains in the earth. Thus Allah sets forth parables.”
