Allah Most High said:
“Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him some of Our signs. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.”
[Al-Isrā’: 1]
And He said:
“Will you then dispute with him about what he sees? He certainly saw him on another descent, at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary, near which is the Garden of Refuge, when the Lote Tree was covered by that which covered it.”
[Al-Najm: 12–16]
Allah Most High also said:
“Your companion is not mad. He certainly saw him on the clear horizon. Nor does he withhold knowledge of the unseen. And this is not the word of an accursed devil.”
[Al-Takwīr: 22–25]
If they rejected his account of seeing the signs Allah showed him on the night of the Night Journey, accused him of lying because of it, and deemed it implausible on rational grounds—even though it was not rationally impossible—then how would they have reacted to something impossible according to clear reason?
Likewise, they denied that Allah would send a human being as a messenger, regarding this as unacceptable and impossible according to their reason.
As Allah Most High said:
“Nothing prevented people from believing when guidance came to them except that they said, ‘Has Allah sent a human being as a messenger?’”
[Al-Isrā’: 24]
And He said:
“Is it a wonder to people that We have revealed to a man from among them, ‘Warn mankind’?”
[Yūnus: 2]
