cause the earth to swallow you?’ [al-Mulk: 16].
‘Or do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not send against you a storm of stones?’ [al-Mulk: 17].
And He, Most High, said:
“To Him ascends good speech” [Fātir: 10].
And He said:
“I will take you and raise you to Myself” [Āl ‘Imrān: 55].
And He said:
“Rather, Allah raised him to Himself” [al-Nisā’: 158].
And He said:
“To Him belong all who are in the heavens and the earth, and those who are with Him” [al-Anbiyā’: 19].
And He said:
“They fear their Lord above them” [al-Nahl: 50].
And He said:
“Lord of the ways of ascent” [al-Ma‘ārij: 3].
And He said:
“He is the Subjugator above His servants” [al-An‘ām: 18].
And He said:
“He is the Most High, the Most Great” [al-Baqarah: 255].
This, then, is Allah’s declaration that He is in heaven. We find that everything that is lower is condemned, as in the words of Allah, Mighty and Majestic:
“Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depth of the Fire” [al-Nisā’: 145].
And He said:
“Those who disbelieve will say, ‘Our Lord, show us those among the jinn and mankind who led us astray, so that we may put them beneath our feet, that they may be among the lowest’” [Fussilat: 29].
