“The Most Merciful rose over the Throne” [Tā Hā: 5]?’

They replied: ‘He is beneath the seven earths just as He is on the Throne. He is on the Throne, in the heavens, on earth, and everywhere. No place is without Him, nor is He in one place to the exclusion of another.’ They recited verses from the Quran:

‘And He is Allah in the heavens and on earth’ [al-An‘ām: 3].

We said: ‘Muslims know of many places in which there is nothing of the Lord’s greatness.’

They asked: ‘Which places?’ We replied: ‘Your entrails and your bodily cavities, the bodily cavities of pigs, privies, and filthy places—there is nothing of the Lord’s greatness in them.’

He has told us that He is in heaven, saying:
