The aim is to produce estimative conceptions suited to the holy realm and to turn away from estimative conceptions suited to the lower realm.
Estimative conceptions consist in conceiving the meanings within particular things that evoke love or hatred, amity or enmity, agreement or opposition, hope or fear. He therefore seeks to conceive what is loved and hoped for, so as to be drawn toward it, and what is disliked and feared, so as to be drawn away from it. What is required and hoped for is to belong to the holy realm, and what is disliked and feared to the lower realm.
He has stated that the One sought and worshipped for His own sake is Allah Most High. One must therefore conceive what gives rise to one’s love for Allah and hatred of whatever turns one away from that, and conceive such hopes and fears as turn one toward Him, just as one conceives things in this world that draw one away from it.
If he has said this while also saying:
“Estimation consists in conceiving something non-sensible in sensible things,”
then this would not be possible until he conceived, with regard to Allah Most High, what causes the heart to be drawn toward Him. Yet he has called this an estimative conception.
Regarding his statement:
“So that the imaginative and estimative faculties are drawn toward estimative conceptions suited to the holy realm.”
If what is meant is estimative conceptions suited to the holiness of the Lord Most High—such as His being the One who deserves to be worshipped and praised, and similar meanings suited to worshipping Him—then he has classified awareness of these as estimative conception.
