As recorded in Sahīh Muslim, Suhayb (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, a herald will proclaim: ‘O people of Paradise, Allah has made you a promise which He wishes to fulfil for you.’ They will say: ‘What is it? Has He not brightened our faces, made our scales heavy, admitted us to Paradise, and delivered us from the Fire?’”
He continued: “Then He will lift the veil, and they will look upon Him. He has given them nothing dearer to them than looking upon Him, and this is the ‘increase.’”
The Sunan collections also report that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“O Allah, I ask You for the pleasure of looking upon Your Face and the longing to meet You.”
Thus, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) made it clear that Allah has not given the people of Paradise
