It is well known that this view was held only by a faction of the speculative theologians; none of the early generations or the imams held it. Most groups of speculative theologians—including the Hishāmiyya, the Dirāriyya, the Najjāriyya, the Kullābiyya, and many of the Karrāmiyya—hold the contrary view.
