For this reason, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“False testimony is equivalent to associating partners with Allah”—repeating this twice or three times.
And Allah, Most High, says:
“And on the Day He will call them and say, ‘Where are My partners whom you used to claim?’ We will bring forth a witness from every nation and say, ‘Produce your proof.’ Then they will know that the truth belongs to Allah, and whatever they used to fabricate will desert them.”
[Al-Qasas: 74–75]
The same applies to al-Rāzī’s report and the consensus of those deemed authoritative concerning the possibility of a being existing neither within the world nor outside it. No one can transmit anything from any prophet of Allah, Most High, or from the Companions, the Successors, the early generations of the Muslim community, or its leading imams and scholars, except what contradicts this view. Nor can anyone attribute this view to anyone held in genuine esteem within the Muslim community.
Likewise, some—including Abū al-Ma‘ālī and others—say: “Muslims agree that the subdivision of bodies reaches a limit at which they become individual units, each part being indivisible and having not a single extremity.”
