‘Thus Our signs came to you, and you forgot them; and thus today you will be forgotten.’ * And thus We recompense whoever transgresses and does not believe in the signs of his Lord. And the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring.”
[Tā Hā: 123–127].
And He, Most High, says:
“And this is a blessed Book which We have sent down, so follow it and be mindful of Allah, that you may receive mercy.”
[Al-An‘ām: 155].
And He, Most High, says:
“And indeed, you guide to a straight path.”
[Al-Shūrā: 52].
And He, Most High, says:
“A Book which We have sent down to you so that you may bring people out of darkness into light, by their Lord’s permission, to the path of the Almighty, the Praiseworthy— * Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth.”
[Ibrāhīm: [1–2].
Likewise, we know that those who oppose and contradict it, and dispute by advancing what conflicts with it, are condemned, as in His saying, Most High:
“None dispute concerning the signs of Allah except those who disbelieve.”
[Ghāfir: 4].
And He, Most High, says:
“Indeed, those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah without any authority having come to them have nothing in their hearts but pride, whose aim they will never attain.”
[Ghāfir: 56], and other similar passages.
Since this is so, it is necessarily known that the one who brought the Quran declared that whoever accepts its reports as true has come to know the truth and is rightly guided, while whoever turns away from this is ignorant and astray. What, then, of someone who opposes and contradicts it?
