This is the view of everyone who believes in Allah and His Messenger. The position of those who turn away from seeking guidance and knowledge in the words of Allah and His Messenger, seeking them instead in the words of others—among the practitioners of speculative theology, philosophy, Sufism, and others—thus makes it clear that they are among the most ignorant of people and the most misguided concerning the path to knowledge. What, then, of someone who opposes his words with the words of those who opposed and contradicted him, and claims that plain truth, knowledge, and guidance are found only in the words of those who contradict and oppose the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds, rather than in the Book and wisdom that Allah revealed, and the knowledge and mercy with which He sent His Messenger?

Everyone who has heard the Quran, whether Muslim or unbeliever, necessarily knows that it guarantees guidance and success to those who follow it, not to those who oppose it. As Allah, Most High, says:
“Alif, Lām, Mīm. * This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those mindful of Allah.”
[Al-Baqarah: 1–2].
And He, Most High, says:
“Alif, Lām, Mīm, Sād. * This is a Book sent down to you, so let there be no distress in your heart because of it, that you may warn thereby, and as a reminder to the believers. * Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow any protectors besides Him.”
[Al-A'rāf: 1–2].
And He says:
“If guidance should come to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray nor suffer misery. * But whoever turns away from My remembrance will have a life of hardship, and We will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection. * He will say, ‘My Lord, why have You raised me blind when I could once see?’ * He will say:
