This argument, which these heretics use against those who deny the divine attributes to substantiate their heresy, is itself one of the arguments used against them by those who affirm the attributes to substantiate their faith. For Allah, glorified be He, has declared that He:
“Sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, to make it prevail over all religion.”
Al-Tawbah: 33
And He, exalted be He, says:
“A Book We have sent down to you so that you may bring people out of darkness into light, by their Lord’s permission.”
Ibrāhīm: 1
And He, exalted be He, says:
“There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book. * Through it Allah guides those who seek His pleasure to the ways of peace, brings them out of darkness into light by His permission, and guides them to a straight path.”
Al-Mā’idah: 15–16
And He, exalted be He, says:
“And thus We have revealed to you a revelation by Our command. You did not know what the Book was, nor what faith was, but We have made it a light by which We guide whomever We will of Our servants. And indeed, you guide to a straight path— * the path of Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth.”
Al-Shūrā: 52–53
And He, exalted be He, says:
“Alif Lām Mīm. * This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those who fear Allah.”
Al-Baqarah: 1–2
And He, exalted be He, says:
“And We have sent down to you the Book as an explanation of all things.”
Al-Nahl: 89
And He, exalted be He, says:
“But a confirmation of what came before it and a detailed explanation of all things.”
Yūsuf: 111
And He, exalted be He, says:
“There has come to you a conclusive proof from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light.”
Al-Nisā’: 174
And He, exalted be He, says:
“So those who believe in him, honour him, support him, and follow the light sent down with him—it is they who will succeed.”
