The same is true of the followers of the leading proponents of doctrines embraced by some among the people of the qiblah. Although these doctrines contain their share of innovations contrary to the Book, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the early generations of the Muslim community, they also contradict sound reason to an extent known only to Allah. Such are the followers of Abū al-Hudhayl al-Allāf, Abū Ishāq al-Nazzām, Abū al-Qāsim al-Ka‘bī, Abū ‘Alī, Abū Hāshim, Abū al-Husayn al-Basrī, and others like them.
