and the messengers as well. The Exalted says:
“Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him.” (Q 3:85)
This verse is all-embracing, valid in every age and every land.
Accordingly, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, the Tribes, Moses, Jesus, and the Disciples—all of them professed Islam, which is to worship Allah alone with no partner.
Concerning Noah, Allah says:
“My people, if my presence among you and my reminding you of Allah’s signs has become burdensome to you, then in Allah I have put my trust; so gather your affair… I have been commanded to be among those who submit.” (cf. Q 10:71–72)
He also says:
“Who would turn away from the way of Abraham except one who makes a fool of himself? We certainly chose him in this world, and in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous. When his Lord said to him, ‘Submit,’ he replied, ‘I have submitted to the Lord of all worlds.’ Abraham enjoined this upon his children—and so did Jacob—saying, ‘My children, Allah has chosen the religion for you, so do not die except while you are Muslims.’” (Q 2:130–132)
And He says:
“Moses said, ‘My people, if you have truly believed in Allah, then rely on Him—if you are indeed Muslims.’” (Q 10:84)
The sorcerers declared:
“Our Lord, pour upon us patience and cause us to die as Muslims.” (Q 7:126)
Joseph, peace be upon him, prayed:
“Cause me to die as a Muslim and join me…”
