you are; and whenever you perform a bad deed, follow it with a good one—it will erase it. Deal with people using the best character.”

He also said, “O Muʿādh, I truly love you, so do not neglect to say at the close of every prayer: ‘O Allah, help me to remember You, to thank You, and to worship You well.’”

While Muʿādh was riding behind him, the Prophet ﷺ asked, “O Muʿādh, do you know Allah’s right over His servants?”
I replied, “Allah and His Messenger know best.”
He said, “His right is that they worship Him and associate nothing with Him. And do you know the servants’ right upon Allah if they do that?”
I said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.”
He said, “Their right upon Him is that He will not punish them.”
