He, exalted is He, also said:
"Those to whom the people said, ‘The people have gathered against you, so fear them,’ but it only increased them in faith, and they replied, ‘Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best guardian.’ So they returned with grace and bounty from Allah; no harm touched them, and they pursued the good pleasure of Allah. Allah is the possessor of vast bounty. It is only Satan who terrifies his allies, so do not fear them—fear Me, if you are truly believers."
He, exalted, also said:
"We have indeed appointed the devils as allies for those who do not believe. When they commit an obscenity, they say, ‘We found our forefathers doing it,’ — up to His saying — ‘They have taken the devils as allies instead of Allah, and they think they are rightly guided.’"
And He, exalted, said:
"Surely the devils whisper to their allies so that they may dispute with you."
Abraham, peace be upon him, said:
"My father, I indeed fear that a punishment from the All-Merciful may touch you, and you would then become an ally of Satan."
And He, exalted, said:
"O you who believe, do not take My enemy and your enemy as allies, offering them affection," — the verses — up to His saying — "Truly, You are the Almighty, the All-Wise."
