one who is among those brought near—then for him there is repose, sweet fragrance, and a Garden of Delight. But if he is of the companions of the right, then “Peace be upon you!”—a greeting from the companions of the right. And if he is of those who denied and went astray, then his welcome shall be scalding water and a roasting in the Blaze. This indeed is the ultimate certainty; so glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Sublime.
The Exalted also says in Sūrah al-Insān:
“Indeed We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. For the unbelievers We have prepared chains, shackles, and a blazing fire. The righteous shall drink from a cup whose mixture is camphor, from a spring from which Allah’s servants drink, making it gush forth abundantly. They fulfill their vows and fear a Day whose evil is widespread. They give food—despite their love for it—to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, saying, ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks. We fear from our Lord a grim, calamitous Day.’ So Allah will shield them from the evil of that Day, grant them radiance and joy, and reward them for their patience with a Garden and silk.” ⦗the verses⦘
Likewise, He mentions in Sūrah al-Muṭaffifīn:
“No indeed! The record of the wicked is in Sijjīn. And what will make you know what Sijjīn is? A written register. Woe on that Day to those who deny, those who repudiate the Day of Retribution! None denies it except every transgressing sinner. When Our verses are recited to him he says, ‘Tales of the ancients.’ No indeed! Rather, the stain of what they used to earn has covered their hearts. No indeed! On that Day they will be veiled from their Lord; then they will surely burn in the Blaze.”
