Allah Has Allies and Satan Has Allies
Allah—exalted is He—has made clear in His Book and in the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, that He has allies among mankind and that Satan likewise has his allies; thus He has distinguished the allies of the All-Merciful from the allies of the devil.
The Exalted said:
“Indeed, the allies of Allah shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve—those who believed and were mindful of Him. For them are glad tidings in the life of this world and in the Hereafter. Never will the words of Allah be changed; that is the supreme triumph.”
He also said:
“Allah is the ally of those who believe; He brings them out of darkness into light. As for those who disbelieve, their allies are the false gods; they drive them from light into darkness. Such people are the inhabitants of the Fire, abiding therein forever.”
And He said:
“O you who believe, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies; they are allies of one another. Whoever among you takes them as allies is indeed one of them. Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. You will see those in whose hearts is a disease rushing toward them, saying, ‘We fear that a turn of fortune may strike us.’ Yet it may be that Allah will bring about victory or a command from Him, and then they will regret the secrets they harbored within themselves. The believers will say, ‘Are these the ones who swore by Allah with their most solemn oaths that they were surely with you?’ Their works have come to nothing, and they have become losers. O you who believe, whoever of you turns back from his religion, Allah will soon bring forward a people whom He loves and who love Him—humble toward the believers, stern against the disbelievers; they strive in the path of Allah and do not fear reproach.”
