of Turkish design, and placed a mat over its entrance (1). All of this served to fulfill the purpose and spirit of devotional retreat, in contrast to what the ignorant (2) do: they turn the place of retreat into a venue for socializing and receiving visitors, exchanging conversation among themselves. This is one thing; the devotional retreat of the Prophet (3) Muhammad is quite another. Allah is the One who grants success.

تركيَّةٍ، وجعل على سُدَّتها حصيرًا (١)، كلُّ هذا تحصيلًا لمقصود الاعتكاف وروحه، عكس ما يفعله الجهَّال (٢) من اتِّخاذ المعتكف موضعَ عِشْرةٍ ومَجْلبةٍ للزَّائرين، وأخذِهم بأطراف الأحاديث بينهم، فهذا لونٌ، والاعتكاف النَّبويُّ (٣) المحمدي لونٌ. والله الموفِّق.
