In the al-Risāla edition (1/ 263), it reads “five times,” following al-Fiqī’s edition. This is incorrect: the intended reference is to the six prayer units—in Fajr, Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ—in which the Quran is recited aloud.
-
(1/ 373): “Ibn Masʿūd said: ‘Why does a man …’” In the al-Risāla edition (1/ 309), following al-Fiqī, it reads “Ibn ʿUmar said.” This is incorrect.
-
(1/ 413): “Ismāʿīl ibn Nujayd.” This was corrupted to “Ismāʿīl ibn Muhammad” (1/ 333).
-
(1/ 509): “Then, on Friday, He opens to them what no eye has seen.” In the al-Risāla edition (1/ 397), this was changed to “Then, at that point, He opens to them …” There is no justification for this, since it contradicts the author’s source.
-
(1/ 510): “From Rawh, from Mūsā, with the same report. It has other chains of transmission from Mūsā ibn ʿUbayda.” The underlined passage is missing from the al-Risāla edition (1/ 398), following al-Fiqī’s edition.
-
(1/ 632): “This is a matter that natural dispositions call for.” In the al-Risāla edition (1/ 474), “ingrained” was added after “matter.” This is one of al-Fiqī’s additions inherited by that edition.
-
(2/ 6): “He undertakes to plough its soil, break it up and sow it, while Allah Himself provides its watering, without any effort on the servant’s part.” In the al-Risāla edition (2/ 6), it reads “He undertakes to plough its soil and water it …” This corruption distorts the meaning.
-
(2/ 15): “Through the narration of Sadaqa ibn ʿAbd Allāh from Mūsā ibn Yasār.” In the al-Risāla edition (2/ 13), “from” was corrupted to “son of.”
-
(2/ 30): “Until it covers his fingertips.” This was corrupted to “until he drags his garments”
