Moreover, it is supported by other corroborating reports, including what al-Shāfi‘ī mentioned in his book, saying: “It is narrated from Ishāq ibn ‘Abd Allāh, from Sa‘īd ibn Abī Sa‘īd, from Abū Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prohibited prayer at midday until the sun passes its zenith, except on Friday.” This is how he related it in Ikhtilāf al-Hadīth (Differences among Hadith Reports) (1). In the Book of Friday Prayer (2), he related it as follows: “Ibrāhīm ibn Muhammad narrated to us from Ishāq.” Abū Khālid al-Ahmar also related it from a shaykh from Medina named ‘Abd Allāh, from Sa‘īd (3) al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace (4).
Al-Bayhaqī also related it in al-Ma‘rifah (Knowledge) (5), through ‘Atā’ ibn ‘Ajlān, from Abū Nadrah, from Abū Sa‘īd and Abū Hurayrah, who said: “The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to prohibit prayer at midday except on Friday.” However, its chain includes someone whose reports cannot be relied upon as evidence, as al-Bayhaqī stated (6). He said (7): “Nevertheless, when these hadiths are combined with the narration (8) of Abū Qatādah, they gain (9) some strength.”
