freeing two women is equivalent to freeing one man. Thus, in Jāmi‘ al-Tirmidhī (1) and elsewhere, Abū Umāmah reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Any Muslim man who frees a Muslim man will find in him deliverance from the Fire, each limb of the freed man ransoming a limb of his own. Any Muslim man who frees two Muslim women will find in them deliverance (2) from the Fire, each limb of theirs ransoming a limb of his own. Any Muslim woman who frees a Muslim woman will find in her deliverance from the Fire, each limb of the freed woman ransoming a limb of her own.”
This is an authentic hadith.
