This points to one of two things: either defective upbringing and misguided instruction, or a flawed creed that drives its adherents to busy themselves with objectives beyond their reach instead of what lies within their capacity. Hence, for our time I see no task more pressing than to devote ourselves entirely to purification and cultivation—calling people to sound doctrine and correct worship—each according to his ability, for Allah does not burden a soul beyond its scope. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all worlds.
