—and there is no way for even the keenest observers and researchers to ascertain that all ten have truly been dismissed.
So there is no god but Allah, and Allah is Most Great! How many strongholds of faith have these pickaxes torn down, how many ramparts protecting the realities of the Sunnah and the Qur’an have they breached! How often have they let loose, against the texts of revelation, the tongue of every clumsy ignoramus and every reckless hypocrite, cleared the road for the enemies of the religion, and flung the gate wide open to every⦗1⦘ innovator and heretic!
Whoever examines the interpretations that run counter to the plain sense of the texts will behold things that provoke astonished laughter, draw forth sorrowful tears, and ignite a jealous anger on behalf of the scriptures: they have made the fresh sweetness of the texts salty and bitter; people have streamed out of guidance and knowledge in throngs; each faction has withdrawn to its own idol, and they have collided like the Christians disputing over Christ’s humanity and divinity.
After all this, they have joined forces to attack the army of the Most Merciful and to oppose the party of the Sunnah and the Qur’an. They rallied one another to wage war on them as eaters rally to a common dish, saying, “Though we differ⦗2⦗ among ourselves, we stand united in fighting this army. Come, let us deal them a single crushing blow until their call is void and their voice extinguished.”
Those who were deluded were beguiled by their great numbers, yet in Allah’s, His Messenger’s, and His party’s sight those numbers only made them fewer; and their principles served only to increase them in misguidance and distance from the faith. They fancied that with their ailing hordes they could fill the hearts of the people of the Sunnah with dread and awe, but: “When the believers saw the confederates, they said, ‘This is what Allah and His Messenger promised us; Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth.’ It only increased them in faith and submission.” [Al-Ahzab 22]
So, when you reflect on the allegorical interpretations of the Qaramitah, the atheists, the philosophers, and the Rafidah
