Ibn Wahb reported—from Usama, from Nafiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar—that “the Prophet ﷺ recited on the pulpit the verse, ‘The earth, all of it, will be in His grasp on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be rolled up in His right hand’ (Az-Zumar 39:64). Then he said, ‘They will be folded in His palm, and He will fling them away just as a boy throws a ball.’” (1)
ʿUbayd Allah ibn Miqsam said, “I watched ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar as he was relating the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: ‘Allah will take His heavens and His earth (2) in His hand and will declare, “I am Allah,”’—and Ibn ʿUmar would close his fingers and open them—‘then He will say, “I am the Most Merciful (3), I am the King.”’ He kept doing this until I saw the pulpit shaking from its lowest plank (4), so much so that I thought it was going to collapse with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ!” (5)
Zayd ibn Aslam narrated: “When Allah wrote the Torah with His own hand, He said, ‘In the name of Allah. This is the book (6) of Allah, written with His hand, for His servant Moses: let him glorify Me and declare My transcendence, and let him not swear falsely by My name, for I will not acquit anyone who swears by My name while sinning.’” (7)
