purification; they have been endowed with comprehension, yet not endowed with true knowledge; and they have been given hearing, sight, and hearts—“Yet neither their hearing, nor their sight, nor their hearts availed them in the least, for they continued to reject the signs of Allah, and that which they used to ridicule engulfed them” (al-Ahqāf 46:26).

Whoever understands these realities will discern from them the acumen, learning, and seasoned insight of the early generations: they warned against kalām, forbade it, disparaged its adherents, and censured them. He will also realize that whoever seeks guidance anywhere other than in the Book and the Sunnah only drifts further and further away.

We therefore ask the Mighty God to guide us to the Straight Path—the path of those upon whom He has bestowed His favor, not of those who have incurred His wrath, nor of those who are astray. Āmīn.
