and that He places the heavens upon one of His fingers and the earths upon another, in accordance with the report transmitted from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

He went on to say: Faith is word and deed; it rises and falls. We accept as authoritative every sound narration that reliable transmitters—each upright narrator receiving it from another—have traced back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

He also said: We affirm all the reports that the scholars of transmission have established, such as the descent to the lowest heaven and the Lord’s saying, “Is there anyone who asks? Is there anyone who seeks forgiveness?”—as well as everything else they have conveyed and proven—contrary to the claims of the people of deviation and misguidance.

Whatever we dispute about, we refer back to the Book of our Lord, the Sunnah of our Prophet, and the consensus of the Muslims.
