and that whoever claims Allah’s Names to be anything other than Himself is misguided. He then cited remarks akin to those he had recorded in the discussion of the sects, until he said:

We state that Islam is broader than faith (imān), and that not every Islam constitutes faith. We further profess that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, turns the hearts between two of His fingers.
