and on the eve of ʿArafah as well, and he cited the hadith concerning that. He went on to say: We believe that Allah spoke to Moses directly, that He chose Abraham as an intimate friend, and that this intimate friendship is not to be understood as poverty, contrary to the claim of the people of innovation.
