To corroborate and firmly establish this, the Messiah, peace be upon him, addressed his Lord, saying: “You know what is within myself, while I do not know what is within Yourself” (Qur’an 5:116).

Affirmation by Ibn Khafif of Allah’s Self:

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, likewise confirmed the soundness of this affirmation in his Sunnah, saying, “Allah, exalted is He, declares: Whoever remembers Me within himself, I will remember him within My Self.”

He also said: “He has written, with His own Hand, a decree upon His Self: ‘My mercy has outstripped My wrath.’”

And he said: “Glory be to Allah, in a manner that pleases His Self,” and in the disputation between Adam and Moses he said, “You—”
