His nearness than the jugular vein, yet—by virtue of His exalted loftiness—He is distant from every far-off place, and He is in no way comparable to human beings.

He continued: “To Him ascend the good words, and He raises the righteous deed” (Q 35:10). It is He who says: “Do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you so that it quakes? Or do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not let loose upon you a storm of stones?” (Q 67:16-17). Transcendent and sanctified is He above being on earth as He is in heaven—supremely exalted, infinitely high.” End of quotation.
