Ibn Waddāḥ, from Zuhayr ibn ʿAbbād, who said: “All the senior shaykhs I met—Mālik, Sufyān al-Thawrī, Fudayl ibn ʿIyāḍ, ʿĪsā, Ibn al-Mubārak, and Wakīʿ—used to say: The [Divine] descent (nuzūl) is an established truth.”
