[The statement of Saʿīd ibn ʿĀmir al-Ḍabīʿī]
Ibn Abī Ḥātim narrates in his book Refutation of the Jahmiyyah that Saʿīd ibn ʿĀmir al-Ḍabīʿī—an imam of Basra in both knowledge and piety, and one of Imām Aḥmad’s teachers—was once told about the Jahmiyyah and remarked, “Their creed is worse in its claims than that of the Jews.”
