Statement of Ibn al-Madīnī:

It is also narrated from Ibn al-Madīnī that, when he was asked, “What is the creed of the mainstream (ahl al-jamaʿa)?” he answered, “They affirm the Beatific Vision, the Divine Speech, and that Allah is above the heavens, established upon the Throne.” He was then asked about the Almighty’s words, “No private conversation takes place among three but that He is their fourth” (Qur’an 58:7). He replied, “Read what comes before it: ‘Have you not considered that—’”
