Mujāhid said, “I reviewed the entire muṣḥaf with Ibn ʿAbbās—from its opening Sūrah to its conclusion—halting at every single verse to ask him about it.”

Al-Shaʿbī said, “No one ever introduces an innovation but that the Book of Allah has already addressed it.”
